“With Medicaid there is a look-back period, and so, if you apply for Medicaid, Medicaid is going to look back to see if you have given any of your money away, and they call it a transfer for less than fair-market value. Starting in January 1st of 2013 it moves to a 37-month look-back, in February we’re going to move to a 38-month look-back, and that’s going to continue until eventually it is phased in so that we’re going to have a five-year look-back on things outside of trust and a five-year look-back on trusts.”
